TWARDZIK STEFANO ANDREA

I was born in Milan on 11 February 1969. After graduating in 1996 with a degree in Humanities from the University of Milan, from autumn 1997 and for the next five years I worked as an archivist and records maneger in three different municipalities in the province of Milan and Lucca. During the same period I did some internships at the Oxfordshire Archives and at the Historical Archives of the Banca Commerciale Italiana. I conducted archiv rearrangement activities on behalf of the Department of Historical Sciences of the University of Milan and the Archival Superintendence Office for Lombardy. In October 2002 I won a open competitive exam for a researcher in Archival Science (sector M-STO/08) at the State University of Milan, where took up employment in November 2002. I am a confirmed researcher since 2006 and belong to the Department of Historical Studies. I was awarded the National scientific qualification in my disciplinary sector, first, in 2021, for second-rank professor, and than, on december 2023, for first-rank professor.
From academic year 2008/2009 to 2012/2013 I have taught ‘Archivistica speciale’; since a.y. 2013/2014 I have been teaching ‘Archivistica’.
RESEARCH TOPICS in the last decade:
a) public and private archives of the 19th and 20th centuries; b) archival legislation and right of access to records; c) Aldo Moro’s writings from Red Brigades prison and a new edition of the so-called Memoriale; d) the documentation of the San Vittore Prison during the German occupation (1943-1945); e) the graduates of the Veterinary Medicine School in Milan (1812-1933): an historical digitalized registry; f) inventory of the files kept by the Milan Municipal Archives concerning the two Italian expeditions to the North Pole and Karakorum (1928-1929); g) the historical events of Milan’s higher education institutes between the 19th and 20th centuries.
