Fare da mangiare: i verbi della cucina in francese e in italiano

Food’s preparation requires a sequence of actions. Therefore, verbs play an important role in the linguistic expression of food oriented human activities. This paper, focused on cooking verbs in French and Italian, is divided in three parts: the first part explains how research results on the syntax of simple sentence can be applied to the study of LSP, in particular of cooking language; the second part presents the corpus extracted from two French cooking books, as well as the methodology used for its analysis; the third part, finally, presents the analysis of the constructions of French cooking verbs extracted from the corpus and the problems encountered for their translation into Italian.
