Role of central nervous system GDH deletion in the regulation of the HPA axis and insulin sensitivity preservation

Project

The objective of our study will be to elucidate the relation between brain glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH),

energy balance, and regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. In particular, we want to

understand how the central nervous system specific GDH deletion reshapes energy stores in the body and

hyper-activates the HPA axis, maintaining peripheral insulin sensitivity.
