Description
CV Nerina Gnesutta -Associate Professor in Biochemistry, Dept. of Biosciences, University of Milan
1992, Laurea in Biological Sciences, Università degli Studi di Milano.
1993-1996, PhD student, Molecular and Cellular Biology Program. Dep. Gen. Pysiol Biochem, Unimi, prof. E. Sturani lab.
1994, Visiting student, EMBL, Heidelberg (Germany), R. Klein lab.
1996, PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Dep. Gen. Pysiol Biochem, Unimi, prof. E. Sturani lab.
1997-2001, Post-Doc fellow, Dep. Biological Sciences, Columbia University, New York (USA), A. Minden lab.
2002, Research Associate, Dep. Biological Sciences, Columbia University, New York (USA), A. Minden lab.
2003-2018: Assistant Professor, Biochemistry, Dep. Biosciences, Unimi.
2018-present: Associate Professor, Biochemistry, Dep. Biosciences, Unimi.
Starting from postgraduate activity, the research activity of prof. Gnesutta focused on Ras and Rho GTPase and protein kinase signaling pathways involved in cell differentiation, survival and proliferation. Currently, research projects concern functional and structural analysis, post-translational modifications, and molecular interactions of human oncogenic Transcription Factors, using biochemical, structural biology and molecular genetics techniques. Part of the research is aimed at the investigation of new multimeric transcriptional complexes, involved in the control mechanisms of flowering and plant development.
She is the author of 29 articles in scientific journals, with 1689 citations, and Hindex 17 and IF 225.9 total.
She teaches for Bachelor's and Master's degree courses in Biological Sciences and Molecular Biology of the Cell. She has been tutoring for Master's and Doctoral degree students in Molecular and Cellular Biology.
She received national and international funding from the MUR and the EU, and participated in projects funded by AIRC, MUR, ARC.
