PRESENT POSITION

Full professor of Occupational Health at the University of Milan, Dpt of Biochemical and Clinical sciences “L. Sacco”.
Director of the Hospital unit “Occupational Medicine” at the L. Sacco Hospital, Milan.
Director of the Postgraduate School of Occupational Medicine, University of Milan.
Teaching activities at the university of Milan in: Medicine, Prevention Techniques and Safety Procedures in the Environment and Workplace, Sciences of Prevention, Specialization school on Occupational health, PhD Course in Public Health Sciences.


MAIN RESEARCH INTERESTS

Since 2000 he has been deeply involved in several research projects on outdoor and indoor air quality and related health effects:
“PM-CARE: Study of the mechanisms of cardiorespiratory effects induced by particles of urban air pollution”. Project supported by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR), 2004-2008. Role: National Coordinator of the project.
- “EnVIE: Co-ordination action on Indoor Air Quality and Health Effects: interfacing science and policy making in the field of indoor air quality”. Sixth Framework Programme FP6-SSPE-2004, 2004-2008. Role: Leader of WP 1 “Health and indoor air quality”.
