Lo studio quantitativo dei fenomeni migratori : dati, prospettive e strategie per studiare le migrazioni

This paper describes the main datasets available to study international migrations and discusses their strengths and weaknesses as well as the empirical strategies that can be used with them. It first examines the main selectivity and comparability issues in the quantitative study of migration, and then focuses on comparative data and on the main surveys available in Italy to investigate various topics related to migration dynamics. It concludes by highlighting the importance of longitudinal data for studying these issues.
