Spazi virtuali : esplorazioni estetiche tra ambienti elettronici e immersivi

Virtual spaces, in their plurality, reconfigure the boundaries of the physical world, opening up new possibilities of experience. However, it would be reductive to ascribe this characteristic solely to contemporaneity. Within the pages of this volume, another possible history emerges: the traces of a process of virtualisation that has turned physical space into a fluid dimension, capable of generating different meanings depending on the media that are integrated into it. From electrification to the birth of cyberspace, from the experiments of artists and designers to the prototypes of "homes of the future", this spectrum of phenomena is reclaimed and rewritten by virtual reality worlds, creating an artificial and immersive space that absorbs us. Wearing a headset, we reorganise our aesthetic experience, searching for new coordinates, immersed in a constellation of images that come to life and demand to be inhabited.
