Abstract:
The activities, carried out in the context of the Spoke 3 “Enabling technologies and sustainable strategies for the smart management of agricultural systems and their environmental impact” AGRITECH, focus on the development of a Decision Support System (DSS) and good management practices to support the irrigation of maize grown under different irrigation techniques (surface and subsurface drip, sprinkler and border irrigation) and their testing in an openfield irrigation platform built at the UNIMI experimental and didactic farm in Cornaredo (MI), where the different irrigation techniques are applied using innovative technologies. The DSS will integrate information from different sources (remote sensing, in-situ sensors and weather forecasts), to feed an agrohydrological model with a GIS interface.
