Towards multi-level governance in industrial relations : mapping the field.

The paper, which was prepared on invitation for the Conference of the IIRA-Europe, the European section of the International Industrial Relations Association, Manchester, 3-7 September 2007, deals with the new multi-level scenario within which industrial relations in European countries are for some time taking place. After a first exploration of current trends with respect to the traditional picture of industrial relations, the possible relations among and within the levels are discussed and preliminary considerations and hypotheses concerning their consequences are presented.
