Early dysfunctions of intercellular signalling in brain disorders

Project
In questo progetto verranno studiati gli alterati meccanismi di comunicazione cellula-cellula in malattie del sistema nevoso centrale come l’Alzheimer (AD) e il glioblastoma (GBM). Grazie a studi di imaging, elettrofisiologia e biologia molecolare in vitro e in vivo, ci si propone i) in un modello di GBM, di caratterizzare gli alterati meccanismi di segnalazione intercellulari relativi alle stesse cellule del cancro e relativi alla comunicazione neurone-astrocita; ii) studiare l’impatto della precocemente alterata comunicazione neurone-astrocita nel modello di AD sia in termini di manifestazione della malattia che progressione; iii) sviluppare nuovi approcci che sostenendo il recupero degli opportuni meccanismi di segnalazione neurone-astrocita possono opporsi al decorso della malattia.
