Description
Andrea Dalmartello is a lawyer and Associate Professor of Commercial Law at the Department of Legal Sciences “Cesare Beccaria”, University of Milan. He previously served as Associate Professor of Private Law and as a researcher at the same University. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Law from Bocconi University and was a visiting researcher/scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, and a visiting scholar at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona.
His research mainly focuses on commercial, banking and financial law, contract law, consumer and investor protection, protective nullities, financial instruments, payment services, derivatives and corporate clauses. He is the author of the monograph Private placement e circolazione di strumenti finanziari, Giuffrè, 2013, which received an “excellent” evaluation in the 2011-2014 VQR, and of numerous articles and book chapters.
He teaches, or has taught, Securities Law, Banking, Insurance and Financial Contracts Law, Banking, Business and Consumer Contracts, Civil Law, Family and Succession Law, and courses within postgraduate programmes and the School of Specialization for Legal Professions.
He is a member of the Ph.D. Faculty Board in Comparative, Private, Civil Procedural and Business Law at the University of Milan, serves on University teaching and quality assurance bodies, and acts as a referee for legal journals. He was appointed by ANVUR as expert evaluator for Area 12 for the 2015-2019 and 2020-2024 VQR assessments. He also served as substitute member of the Banking and Financial Ombudsman Board of the Bank of Italy. He is admitted to the Milan Bar and is qualified to plead before the Italian higher courts.
