Major clinical and research Interests
I have initiated my scientific activity working on endometriosis when I was a student in Medicine. Even if the areas of research interests have subsequently grown (including fibroids, adenomyosis, intrauterine insemination, IVF, infertility, ovarian reserve, fertility preservation, gynaecologic sonography, thyroid disorders, HIV infection, urine incontinence, general obstetrics, emergency obstetrics care, psychology, health economics) endometriosis is still representing the central aspect of my scientific activity.
In this regard, I had the privilege to approach the research on endometriosis using a wide range of methodologies. I started with in vitro cultures and molecular studies, then I moved to animal models of the disease and, finally, to clinical research. This latter aspect included both observational and interventional studies.
