A previdência social perante os riscos da globalização: o contágio da Covid-19 e a noção italiana de risco profissional

The Covid-19 epidemic is a typical example of a risk global and social of the modernity. This risk has raised many questions of interpretation in the Italian debate, especially regarding the possibility of qualifying the contagion as accident at work. The issue is of extreme importance from a theoretical and applicative point of view and involves delicate aspects concerning the meaning of the accident at work and, more generally, the function of social insurance against accidents at work and occupational diseases after more than a century of doctrinal and jurisprudential elaboration. The essay aims to investigate the various problems relating to the qualification of contagion as an accident at work in the perspective of the social protection function of the workers that the insurance against accident at work must continue to perform facing the risks of modernity.
