Abstract:
A time discrete scheme is used to approximate the solution to a phase field system of Penrose-Fife type with a non-conserved order parameter. An a posteriori error estimate is presented that allows the estimation of the difference between continuous and semidiscrete solutions by quantities that can be calculated from the approximation and given data.
