Abstract:
The classica! methods of structural analysis were applied in the Texel Gruppe (upper Spronsertal, Eastern Italian Alps, Austroalpine domain) in order to reconstruct the deformational history of the Partschins metagranitoid with respect to its country rocks. The complex structural evolution is summarized in a structural map at 1:5,000 scale. Three synmetamorphic phases of deformation are revealed (D1, D2 , D3 ); each of them is related to a different metamorphic imprint during progressive decrease of both P and T. The synmetamorphic groups of structures are crosscut by a grid of conjugated chevron folds (D4), kink-bands, extensional shear bands and joint sets. This framework is representative of the structural history at a much wider scale, as evident at the southern end of the Schneebcrg-Laas Complex.
