I tanti Ovidio di Marziale : una rilettura imperiale e una questione di metodo

Martial connects from many points of view to Ovid’s poetry. The first part of this paper takes into consideration the representation of city crowd and of the ceremony of triumph in the two authors. The second part analyzes the presence of the exile elegy especially in the twelfth book of epigrams. The paper remarks the importance of reading the intertextuality with Ovid not as an isolated dialogue but in interac- tion with other texts, first of all with Horace’s sermo.
