abstract:
A system for locating mobile terminals in a communication network includes a location module (12) for determining a set of points candidate to representing the position of a mobile terminal being located and a selection module (16) for selecting out of the set of candidate points at least one point representative of the position of the mobile terminal being located. The system also includes an input module (18) for defining geographical and movement (e.g. speed, acceleration, jerk) constraints to be complied with by the mobile terminal being located and a filter (14) for filtering out of the set of candidate points those points in said set that fail to comply with the geographical and movement constraints defined, thus generating a subset of points candidate to representing the position of the mobile terminal being located. The selection module (16) is connected to the filter (14) to perform the step of selecting (16) on the subset of points candidate to representing the position of the mobile terminal being located.
