La protezione dei dati personali nell’era digitale: considerazioni alla luce del quadro giuridico internazionale in materia di business e diritti umani

Personal data protection in the digital era: remarks in the light of the international legal framework on business and human rights. The current is the “golden age of surveillance”. The European Union and its Member States play an active role, either through the intelligence services and the law enforcement agencies, which collect personal data for national security objectives, or through their ICT corporations, which develop their economic activities in the field of personal data collection and transfer and trade of hacking tools. The present essay aims at examining the protection of personal data and the right to privacy in the light of the international legal framework on business and human rights.
