Komplemente, Komplementsätze, Korrelate und ihre Darstellung in Übungsgrammatiken für den DaF-Unterricht

In order to facilitate or support the grammar learning process numerous grammar exercise books have been conceived next to teaching manuals and reference grammar books. These exercise books aim at providing learners with a reliable account of how German grammarworks, although they differ considerably in their theory, typology and terminology, which they employ. In this contribution we will focus on different complements/arguments and complement sentences in German from a valency-based perspective as they are very important for the learner. The correct use of complement sentences, which are sometimes connected to the so-called Korrelate in main clauses, constitute a real challenge for language pedagogy. The contribution will look at different materials and see how they deal with this phenomenon.
