The book, L’orientamento sessuale, by G. Zanetti, has the quality, among many others, to enlight with reference to a specific case different ways in which law can influence social change, showing how law, in its differents forms, not only reflects values, interests and social representations but contributes to build and modify them. From the history of juridical treatment of sexual orientation in the United States and the reconstruction of its fundamental phases, emerge how principles and norms constituting a sort of inner rationality of law can push toward the realisation of the moral equality of all human beings.
