Frades Minores e inquisição : Alguns casos na Itália Medieval

The Franciscans seem to have played a secondary role in medieval Inquisition. This is not true at all. The contribution brings clear their active participation in the repression of the haeretica pravitas through the analysis of emblematic cases from the Thirteenth to the Fifteenth century, that is to say from the birth of the Inquisition to the crusade against the Waldenses of 1488, which was attended by the Franciscan friars of the Observance. The contribution focuses mostly on unpublished documents, such as account books of the inquisitors in Northern Italy (libri racionum, hold by the Archivio Segreto Vaticano), ), or processes in which Friars Minor inquisitors undergo themselves judicial inquiry (the case of Todi in Umbria).
