Das solonische Gesetz über Erbschaft : Vorschrift über Testament oder Adoption?

Solon enacted a law conferring on the Athenians the possibility of disposing of one’s patrimony (διατίθεσθαι τὰ ἑαυτοῦ) through adoption. The paper examines the contents of the law and advances a new reconstruction of its text. According to the author, the law introduced the testamentary adoptions, allowing a bequeather to adopt persons outside his γένος. The dispositions regarding the testamentary adoptions were later on extended by analogy to the inter vivos adoptions, that already existed when Solon passed his law.
