abstract:
HPLC coupled with APCI (Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionisation)-MS seems to be the preferable technique for detection of sulphonamides. It was used to identify the sulphathiazole in edible trout tissue. A detection limit of 10 μg/kg and a quantitation limit of 30 μg/kg were obtained. MS data useful for the identification, confirmation and quantitation of sulphathiazole by APCI-MS have not been reported previously.
