L’invalidità civile in una popolazione lombarda con epilessia

A study carried out in 1988/89 at the Epilepsy Centres of the Neurological Institute 'C. Besta' and 'S. Paolo' Hospital Milan, investigated the possibility of schooling and introduction into a working environment of the out patients with epilepsy; 398 pts were interviewed. The analyses, clearly show that the type, number, actual and previous frequency of the seizure, age at onset of the symptomatology, the joint inconveniences and drug resistance' condition the formative and professional choices of each individual patient. For some variables' statistically significant differences are shown both in the comparison between drug-resistant and seizure free pts and in the cases-controls comparison.
