Abstract:
(20S)-3β-Acetoxypregn-7-ene-20-carbaldehyde affords stereoselectively (24R)- and (24S)-3β,29-dihydroxystigmast-7-ene, compounds containing the side chain functionality of oogoniol, through a five step synthesis.
