La Passio Anastasiae : introduzione, testo critico, traduzione

The Author publishes the Latin text of the ‘Passio Anastasiae’, probably written in Rome about the year 450. Firstly, the literary aspects of the text are examined: the structure of this hagiographical ‘novel’ (according to Bachtin’s definition of novel chronotopus), its relationships with the pagan narrative tradition, the elements suggesting date and place of composition. Secondly, the 54 manuscripts bearing the text are described and organized in a stemma codicum. Thirdly, a critical edition of the text is presented, endowed with an Italian translation and with some remarks concerning the linguistic ‘facies’ of the ‘Passio’.
