Gauge fixing and twisted prolongations

We study the effect of a gauge transformation on vector fields defined in jet bundles, and in particular on prolongations of Lie-point vector fields. Our study shows that the recently introduced 'twisted prolongations' can be roughly understood as usual prolongations in an unusual gauge.
