Specialized translation: theoretical issues, operational perspectives

This work draws largely on considerations and perspectives from various areas in Applied Linguistics, especially Translation Studies and English for Specific Purposes, but also studies on genres and discourse. Starting with a recapitulation of Translation Studies to this day, the book proposes an operational interpretation of the translating phenomenon, before going on to describe and analyze the specificity of specialized translation. Finally, it discusses the recent changes undergone by specialized discourse in the web age, and their influence on the suggested view of translation as a product, a process and a practice.
