Note sul paratesto dei quotidiani politici

The paratextual apparatus, and titles in particular, of newspapers can be seen as a “linguistic microcosm” where several linguistic, textual and allusive strategies are carried out to invite the reader to read the articles. In this study, six political periodicals, usually less inquired by traditional researches, are analysed : both titles and what is strictly connected with them (subheadings and subtitles) and the so-called “summarizing paratextual inserts” are here considered. The analysis considers first the functions that they possess and the forms through which they present themselves, to pass then to examine the rhetorical, syntactic and lexical plans. An overall view of the language and of the strategies of the textual portion of the political press here considered is given, underling the differences between periodicals only when really significant.
