L'entrée de la Roumanie dans l'Union européenne et les échos dans la presse italienne

This contribution aims to analyze Romania’s entry into the European Union, by retracing, in terms of both bibliography and sources, the considerations which accompanied the process of enlargement of the European Union to 27 countries. The articles reviewed appeared during the crucial period of 2006-2007 in two major Italian newspapers, Corriere della Sera and La Repubblica, which dealt, in short or more broadly, with Romania. Taking into account the fact that these newspapers undoubtedly guide the Italian public opinion but also reflect its feelings, and sometimes its moods, it appeared to us that they constituted a privileged observatory meant to assess the perplexities and the hopes of the Italian side.
