Bharadvāja's āśrama and the paradise of the warrior (Rāmāyaṇa II.85)

The hermitage of Bharadvaja, where Bharata spends one night with his army, an episode to which a full sarga of the Ramayana is devoted(Ramayana II 85), is depicted in all its details as an earthly image of the paradise which, according to a widespread Indian conception, awaits the warrior who has heroically died on the battlefield.
