"Evidences of the future: From machine vision to prevision", intervento nel public program della mostra "Surveillance", Lito Studio / Nuovo Anfiteatro Martesana
Public Engagement Surveillance is an exhibition dedicated to the phenomenon of surveillance and control in contemporary society. The display explores how the sensation of constant observation influences our behavior, self-perception, and understanding of the world around us.
Throughout history, humanity has lived under constant scrutiny. From the formation of the first communities, people began to watch each other. We have been observed by gods, rulers, neighbors, and even friends. In the 21st century, with the rise of artificial intelligence and the all-encompassing internet, the sense of constant surveillance has intensified, becoming an invisible yet pervasive reality.
How has our perception of privacy changed? How does being watched affect our freedom of expression? These and other questions are explored by the artists featured in this exhibition. The display invites viewers to engage in a collective reflection on what it means to live under continuous control.
