Abstract:
The contribution focuses on the official website of the government of the People's Republic of China in Chinese, analysed as a virtual context in which a flow of communication between government and citizens takes place. Through a reflection on the textual genres represented in the portal and the analysis of some texts extracted from the website, in the light of the categories of the E-participation Framework of the United Nations, it highlighted how the nature of the online interaction between institutions and citizens in China today is still unbalanced and that there is room for a further empowerment of citizens as active netizens.
