TRAIN4EU+ is rooted in the 4EU+ alliance’s ambition to strive for excellence in all aspects of our roles as
comprehensive, public research-based and excellence focused European universities. Specifically, this proposal will be
a transforming effort in our ongoing work to improve and expand how we i) support our researchers as they continue
to expand the limits of knowledge and ii) ensure that this knowledge helps society address the challenges of our times.
We will do this by pursuing five objectives. These are: i) We will find new ways to improve - individually and
collectively – our support structures for enhancing quality and impact of R&I; ii) We will foster a culture of colearning
and co-innovation across the consortium based on a thorough best-practice assessment; iii) We will pilot
selected transformative measures within different modules within the project life time; iv) We will push boundaries by
pinpointing and highlighting drivers and facilitators of, as well as barriers and obstacles, to transformative change, v)
We will strive to scale up impact, in collaboration with other alliances, and through dissemination and communication
to all stakeholders, including targeted events for policy makers, to ensure wide uptake and exploitation of results.
To pursue these objectives, we rely on a systematic methodology to uncover best practises and lessons learned
across R&I support functions, to stakeholder involvement, and to share and co-develop innovations and ideas for
transformative action across all six universities in 4EU+. We implement this methodology in a concerted effort s
across our six core work packages that each relate to the relevant transformation modules. An ambitious dissemination
and outreach effort will ensure our learnings are made available for policy makers, fellow universities, civil society,
business and other stakeholders; thus providing invaluable input to the ongoing effort of preparing the European
universities for the future.
