PRINCIPALI AZIONI PREVISTE:
Il progetto di ricerca è finalizzato all’applicazione di nuove tecnologie omiche per lo studio delle Disfunzioni del Micro Circolo (DMC) alla base di processi fisiopatologici chiave in molte malattie acute e croniche. Proponiamo un nuovo paradigma di diagnosi e cura per le DMC mediante un approccio molecolare high-throughput, eziopatogenetico e terapeutico, in linea con la missione del nostro Dipartimento. Lo studio delle DMC rappresenterà una nuova linea di ricerca che accrescerà la qualità scientifica e le sinergie del Dipartimento di Fisiopatologia Medico Chirurgica e dei Trapianti (DEPT) grazie anche all’acquisizione di infrastrutture e figure professionali per generare, interpretare ed integrare dati omici con dati
clinico-fenotipici.
Le DMC interessano diverse patologie trattabili attraverso approcci biomolecolari per una medicina di precisione. Infatti, la microcircolazione è fondamentale nel mantenimento della perfusione, della funzionalità, della risposta immunitaria nonché nel controllo dell'invecchiamento di tutti gli organi. Le DMC oggetto di studio riguarderanno infatti il sistema ematopoietico/immunitario, cardio/polmonare, gastrointestinale e nervoso. Si
manifestano come patologie comuni e rare, acute e croniche, spesso senza approfondita caratterizzazione eziopatogenetica molecolare e terapie.
I ricercatori del DEPT, esperti di riferimento a livello nazionale e internazionale con una consolidata esperienza dei processi molecolari e fisiopatologici in diverse aree specialistiche e con accesso ad una vasta casistica clinica, condivideranno la loro esperienza in un progetto
focalizzato sulle alterazioni d’organo da danno di perfusione, a seguito di disfunzione meccanica, immunitaria, infiammatoria o emostatica. Con questo nuovo modello il DEPT potrà consolidare, con un preciso “marchio” identificativo, la sua eccellenza.
