The main aim of this bilateral project, FEEDNEEDS, is to develop an integrated and competitive research community focused on feed
quality, feed safety, and feed technology, which may interact with the feed sector in order to identify its research needs. For this pourpose the Institute of Food Technology of the University of Novi Sad (FINS) and the Department of Health, Animal Science and Food Safety of the University of Milan (VESPA), will cooperate with feed industries based in each country and territory in which they are embedded (i.e Lombardy and Voivodina). The Methodoly proposed are mainly: Exchange visits, lab and desk works, questionnaire development, data collection, analysis, reports and publication, seminars and workshops organization. Accordingly the expected results are mainly: Creation of a research network about feed quality, feed safety and technology; Develop a survey about the research need in the feed sector in two case regains in Italy and Serbia; creation of training and exchange program for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and young researchers focus on R&D in the feed sector; Improvement of knowledge about research in the feed industry. In this context FEEDNEEDS will stimulate not only the cooperation between the two countries/institutions, but also it will stimulate public private partnerships in R&D in the feed sector, which involve several SME.
