Raising public awareness of development issues and promoting education in the European Union

Overall objective(s): - to raise public awareness in Europe and developing countries regarding the link between development and sustainable agriculture issues. - to foster synergies between development actors, institutions and civil society for more equitable North–South relations. - to mobilize greater support for actions against poverty and empower civil societies to responsibly and sustainably care for development and food security Specific objective - to promote the great potential role of sustainable agriculture as tool to fight hunger and poverty, maintaining a sustainable path for development and avoiding natural resources depletion, both in Europe and developing countries. Main activities: 1.1 Establishment of a platform on sustainable agriculture and development among NGO, public authorities and research institutes. 1.2 Scientific research and dissemination of research findings, database, handbook. 1.3 Partnership of the platform for international networks. 2.1 Development of communication campaign. 2.2 Settlement of web portal 2.3 Establishment of media relations. 2.4 Dissemination of campaign. 3.1 School Educational Campaign.4.1 Media workshop (off-line and on-line). 5.1 European media award. 6.1 Activation of sustainable agriculture info Points in developing countries. 7.1 Public Events in EU. 7.2 Participation in fairs & exhibitions
