Development, integration and dissemination of animal-based welfare indicators, including pain, in commercially important husbandry species, with special emphasis on small ruminants, equidae & turkeys (Welfare indicators)
Project Il progetto AWIN intende riaffermare l'importanza dell’approccio scientifico allo studio del benessere, sviluppando nel contempo indicatori di uso pratico e misurabili direttamente sugli animali negli allevamenti. Ha ricevuto un finanziamento di 4,5 milioni di euro e vede coinvolte numerose istituzioni di diversi paesi europei ed extra-europei. Un elemento distintivo del progetto è quello di voler creare un insieme di relazioni dinamiche e durature tra ricercatori, esperti del settore, studenti, produttori e consumatori al fine di migliorare il benessere degli animali allevati. Il progetto è suddiviso in quattro distinti, ma complementari, Work Packages.
