The SOSTARE project (Analysis of farm technical efficiency and impacts on environmental, agronomic and economic sustainability) addresses sustainability from the point of view of three main aspects related to farm management: agronomic, economic, and ecologic. The model developed in SOSTARE aims at being fully operational and usable by different stakeholder categories (i.e. farmers, technical advisors, policy makers) and, therefore these three dimensions of sustainability have been identified as being strictly linked to actions that can be performed directly at farm level in order to improve the farm overall performance.
