RESEARCH ACTIVITY
During my academic experience, first as a PhD student and post-doctoral fellow (University of Milan) and then as RTDb (University of Milan), my research activity has been mainly focused on pharmaceutical analysis, with particular reference to the development and application of innovative analytical strategies based on High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HR-MS), for the study of new molecular targets, identification and characterization of small and large biologically active molecules and elucidation of their mechanisms of action. This has allowed me to develop a strong expertise in the field of proteomics, i.e. in the systematic identification of proteins and their characterization with respect to structure, function, activity, quantity and molecular interactions.
In detail, the main research lines developed can be detailed as follows:
• Descriptive /Qualitative proteomics: qualitative analysis of different protein expression profiles;
• Oxidative Stress & Antioxidant Strategies: identification and characterization of oxidative stress biomarkers / investigation on the mechanism of action of molecules with antioxidant activity;
• Identification and Characterization of Non-Oxidative Covalent Protein Adducts;
• Quantitative Proteomics: quantitative evaluation of the variation in protein profiles due to the presence of a morbid condition or a specific therapeutic treatment;
• Analytical strategies for the study of natural extracts: bioavailability, bioactivity and mechanism of action studies;
My research activity started in 2013 and led to the publications of almost 49 papers in peer reviewed journals, (h-index: 15; citations: 906 (by 824 documents); averaged impact factor: 4,32) and participation to several national and international congresses with 10 oral presentations.
