La lingua dei rapper figli dell'immigrazione in Italia

Many italians rap singers are first or second generation immigrants. Many different languages coexist in their songs: apart from Italian, fragments of local dialects and slang, American English is no longer the only linguistic exception. Song titles and verses often include Italian, English, Arabic, Spanish and French, which generates unprecedented puns and artistic results.
A thorough study of a vast body of rap songs written by immigrants (some of them have already enjoyed enormous success) analyses how the various languages interact. The more frequently recurring foreign words are listed, and some of the aspect that define rappers’ so called ‘giovanilese’ (youngsters’ language) are analysed, especially ‘riocontra’, which wants a proper scientific study.
The rapper Amir, who wrote an autobiography, is treated separately. His book looks into key moments of his life, which inspired his songs, thus permitting a direct confrontation of his prose and his lyrics.
