A Latin learning adventure

Reconfiguring the role for Classical Culture as an element of European identity is a demanding challenge which we could face successfully if we consider Latin language as a living means of communication (see for example the recent launching of the Commentarii de inepto puero 2015, the Latin translation of the Diary of a wimpy kid).
The role Virtual Environment could play in this perspective has not been investigated: setting new didactic patterns, based on the role-playing game as effective means of learning looks a promising perspective. We aim to explore the feasibility of designing a videogame entirely in Latin language, based on Ørberg's method Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata, that is the method of contextual induction. In this method students having no previous knowledge of Latin will delve into a Virtual Roman World, where learning Latin Language as a means of communication will be the core of the gameplay.
