There is an odontostomatological cultural heritage to be identified, preserved, and enhanced. It will transmit the characteristics of our profession to posterity. It therefore deserves to be protected and passed on. In this work, we would like to emphasise certain characteristics of cultural heritage that are applicable to odontostomatology. This will be expressed both regarding the attribution of the qualities of cultural heritage itself and by identifying cultural heritage worthy of protection and enhancement. For example, we can consider professional activity as cultural heritage; some objects, such as the catalogues of manufacturers of odontostomatological instruments; some categories of instruments (the example of probes is proposed); some materials, such as patient registration sheets. The material of professional associations (orders, trade associations) also deserves to be treated as a cultural heritage and not only as evidence of administrative activity. Finally, the issue of how cultural heritage is used by specialists and the public at large should also be addressed.
