Progetto PSR (2025) Linea 8-Sottomisura B- Dott.ssa Stefano PANEPINTO (Tutor: Prof. Fiandaca Gianluca) - Missione a Oulu

The GAEME project, under the supervision of prof. Gianluca Fiandaca and RTT Jian Chen, focuses on the development and application of advanced geophysical methodologies. Particularly the integration of potential field methods (gravity and magnetics) and electromagnetic techniques, to improve the reliability of 3D geological models used in mineral exploration and deep crustal investigations. The mentoring activities will include: •Participation in CSM's research group meetings and seminars; •One-to-one mentoring sessions with Elena KOZLOVSKAYA, Professor of Applied Geophysics, on inversion strategies, joint modelling, and data integration workflows; •Exchange of best practices in open-source geophysical software and data management; •Identification of opportunities for long-term collaboration or joint publications. Relevance to current research: This mission is directly aligned with my current postdoctoral research, which focuses on the integration of potential field data for geological modelling. It will allow me to benchmark my methodology with leading practices and enhance the scientific and technological quality of my work through international collaboration. Duration and funding request: The proposed visit will last 2 weeks, during which I will be fully engaged in mentoring and research exchange activities. The total estimated budget is €2500, covering travel, accommodation, and living expenses. Expected outcome: The mission will contribute to the refinement of GAEME’s modelling framework and foster strategic networking for future collaborative projects. A final report will be provided at the end of the activity, summarizing results and perspectives.
