Competenze professionali Geologo specializzato nello studio di successioni sedimentarie, con particolare attenzione alle tematiche stratigrafiche, sedimentologiche, diagenetiche, geochimiche e paleogeografiche in sistemi marini carbonatici e carbonatico-silicoclastici, sistemi carbonatici continentali (travertine idrotermali, bacini lacustri endoreici). L'attività di ricerca è stata svolta mediante studi di terreno e analisi di laboratorio in collaborazione con specialisti internazionali. In particolare, lo studio dei carbonate microbiali e’ stato affrontato in contesti sedimentari marini e non marini. Le aree di studio investigate riguardano: successioni carbonatiche del Carbonifero in Spagna, Regno Unito e Russia, del Triassico nella Alpi Meridionali (Lombardia, Dolomiti) e Austria, del Giurassico in Marocco e in Sardegna; successioni carbonatiche continentali in Italia Centrale, Germania e Stati Uniti.
