Abstract:
Environmental studies have been performed on the possible presence of aeroallergenic pollens, which have been examined following their trapping with adequate instrument, in the atmosphere of a resort situated in the Sinai desert, namely in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt. In the same site, furthermore, observations have been performed also on the possible presence of asthmogenic "major" or "minor" mites in several Coral Bay Hotel rooms, both by the mean of Aclo-test and direct microscopy. The observations have been practiced during the last autumn. The analysis as demonstrated as much as 2-3 grass pollen granules per cubic meter of air, plus some occasional unidentified different pollen granules, likely of local origin. Negative both tests for mites. The extreme rarity of pollens and absence of mites warrant oligosymptomatic or asymptomatic stays for persons affected with respiratory allergy, recognizing the overmentioned as responsible allergens for their symptomatology.
