Abstract:
The sharp increase in bariatric surgery in women of childbearing age has inevitably led to a rise in the number of pregnancies in women who have had restrictive or malabsorptive procedures, with a consequent rise in the risk of maternal malnutrition. In this research letter two cases ofNTDs detected during pregnancies in women who alsounderwent RYGB, and who received no peri-conceptional nutritional counselling are reported.
