Abstract:
The pathogenesis of Raynaud's phenomenon involves many factors which have been studied separately but without reaching conclusive results. Laser Doppler and Iontophoresis have made it possible to refine the study of vascular reactivity in the skin. 8 patients with Primary Raynaud's phenomenon, 10 with Secondary Raynaud's phenomenon and 10 controls were studied. The three groups were similar in terms of age sex and skin temperature. The patients were studied with the probes applied to the back of the second phalanx of the index and middle fingers of the hand on the non-dominating side. ACH and SNP 1% were used with a current of 0.2 mA for 30 seconds. The basal Rest flow was investigated as well as, before each test, the Peak Flow and response to the arithmetic test. Then the maximum response in percentage terms to the ACH and SNP were evaluated. A deficit in the endothelium - dependent response and stress paradoxical vasodilatation were observed in Secondary Raynaud.
