Abstract:
This contribution is based on a narrative review of literature, which has explored duration and settings of nursing clinical rotations in undergraduate training. Literature reveals characteristics of setting, duration of the clinical placement and organizational aspects especially when the clinical learning environment is evaluated, often with CLES and CLEI. Furthermore, those aspects are disclosed when the clinical training is carried out in the community, which is often presented as an innovative experience for nursing students. Conversely, when clinical training take place in the ward, little information is given about settings (which Unit), duration and organizational aspects. Authors conclude that more attention must be payed to the study of the “dispositive” of the nursing clinical training, analyzing how spaces, duration and organizational aspects influence students’ learning and growth.
