Abstract:
The Atlantic travel examined through the project of Slavery is the main theme of this paper, which analizes the poetic elaboration of the theme of Conquest and reconquest of identity in some French-writing authors: Aimé Césaire, Édouard Glissant and Sylvie Kandé. This project will be considered in the light of the chronotope of the boat, assimilizing the ancient slavery to more recent ones, that take place in the Mediterranean Sea.
In all three cases, we are in the presence of epic or "neo-epic" poems, aimed to rewrite a new story that might compensate, if not reverse, the vision of one of the blackest pages in the history of the West.
